Hello! I'm Nat and I'm a first-year New Media Design student from Syracuse, New York. When I'm not doing art/designs, I enjoy photography too. I'm also the Art/Design Director of RIT's own new Her Campus team! You can always find me in nature as I love to hike and go on adventures. I was a competitive dancer for most of my life and I have made it a point to carry it with me past high school. I also love yoga and pilates! Additionally, I'm a multi-musician and I'm absolutely in love with music. I also enjoy up-cycling/sewing clothing, reading, and writing. Some of my favorite tunes: "Cherry Wine - Live" by Hozier, "Next to You" by John Vincent III, "Flightless Bird" by Iron and Wine, and "Gale Song" by The Lumineers - and SO many more!
This project, for my New Media Interactive I class at RIT, was my first time ever doing code of any kind, completed in 2021 - my second semester of my freshman year. The project description is a simple profile page of myself. It requried at least 3 images taken or created by me, text about my hobbies, interests, etc, and a full lockup consisting of a wordmark and a brandmark created by me. This project was likely the hardest project I've ever done at that point in my education as I was a complete beginner going into it, but after countless hours of work, I'm relatively proud of the end result - for being my first of many to come.
For this project, I was asked to create a responsive web article behaving as a professional publication. I had to create a brand identity for my fake publication company and carry it throughout the entire site and it's pages consistantly. The article had to be around 600 - 1200 words and spread out across 2 or 3 pages. This project brought in a big focus on responsiveness and I learned a whole new process of using media quarries as well as the importance of responsive design and the consistancy neccessary to achieve it. The difficulty of this project was even more intense than the last and showed me how much I learned and how much growth I've had just through the first project alone!
This final project for my New Media Interactive I class is coming soon - an instructional/narrative responsive site!
